Kohli denies renewal of brand deal with RCB; hints at IPL dissociation

According to emerging reports, Virat Kohli might not prolong his IPL career as MS Dhoni did after retiring from international cricket. It's worth mentioning that Kohli has already retired from Tests and T20Is, while, according to the BCCI chief selector Ajit Agarkar, the talismanic batter is not committed to playing the 2027 World Cup. As uncertainty looms over Kohli's future in international cricket, a fresh report has emerged, decoding the chances of the legendary batter's premature exit from the Indian Premier League.

Thus, Kohli's decision of not to be involved in the leadership group and his clear instruction to RCB to find an alternative suggest that he might not be active as an IPL

After releasing Faf du Plessis to the mega auction pool, RCB approached VIRAT KOHLI for IPL captaincy; however, the talismanic cricketer declined the role and proposed Rajat Patidar's name. His recommendation worked wonders for the franchise, with Patidar leading them to their first-ever IPL title in 18 years.

Kohli’s Career Stage and Recent Retirements

The 36-year-old batting icon has already retired from Test cricket and stepped away from T20 internationals after India’s T20 World Cup win in 2024. Many believe that with his international career winding down, the IPL might be his final cricket chapter.

Over the past few seasons, Kohli has openly spoken about managing his workload and focusing on his family. This has led to speculation that he could soon end his IPL journey as well.
